What will I do as District 8 Vice President?
Aggressively Promote Competition
While I was competing at Florida CDC and ICDC last year, I saw the importance of competition preparation. Florida DECA purchasing DECA+ for every chapter was an amazing move, and as VP I’ll bring more pro-competition initiatives to the table. Some ideas: Host past DECA champions and local business leaders for virtual competition prep. Analyze winning competition submissions and share findings through chapter visits with District 8 schools. District 8 is a DECA powerhouse, and I would love to advocate for our love of competition.
Procure local opportunities for DECA members
Palm beach county recently earned the title of “Wall Street South” due to hundreds of business and financial firms moving to South Florida. Given this climate, District 8 DECA members are both local to and prepared for the prestigious internships and professional opportunities around us. As Vice President, I’ll reach out to local business leaders, communicate how strong our members are, and connect District 8 members with subsequent opportunities.
Increase Student Power
I want to make sure that all District 8 members can feel heard. I encourage all District 8 members to reach out with any suggestions or feedback. If elected, I will be present at Florida DECA’s board of advisors meetings where I’ll strongly advocate for our needs.
